BRIDGE ROOM HIRE

The Space

The Bridge Room is a large L- shaped function room decorated with Harbour Bridge memorabilia, a fireplace and a private balcony with heater for the cooler months.

This room can accommodate:

  • 100 people standing
  • 60 guests maximum seated comfortably on six tables of ten across 2 spaces, 40 guests on four tables of 10 in one area
  • 30 guest’s maximum seated on one long table for dining event

Seating can be arranged according to individual preference.

Features

  • There is a private bar with two serving points
  • A separate sound system allows patrons to listen to in- house music or bring their own iPod, MP3 player or selection of CDs
  • A  flat screen TV with DVD player is available; capable of running a slideshow using a USB memory stick with standard JPEG files
  • There is a connection for laptop with either an HDMI plug
  • A cordless microphone is available

Hire Fees

Sunday to Thursday: $450

Friday and Saturday: $550

After your 6 hour duration, management reserves the right to close the bar service.

CAP ROOM HIRE

The Space

This room is an intimate function room with an old-style club atmosphere decorated with caps worn by past players in cricket, football and other sports.

Other features include a decorative gas fireplace with chesterfield lounges and a private bar with its own bar person.

This room can accommodate:

  • 70 people standing for a cocktail event
  • 30 guests maximum seated comfortably on three tables of ten
  • 24 guests maximum seated on one long table for a dinning event
  • 20 guests theatre style

Seating can be arranged according to individual preference.

  • A separate sound system allows patrons to listen to in house music or bring their own iPod, MP3 player or selection of CDs
  • A wall mounted TV with DVD player capable of running a slideshow using a USB memory stick with standard JPEG  files or connect your laptop via HDMI
  • An open balcony with stunning Harbour and Bridge views and heating during the cooler months.
  • Lift access straight into this room
  • Disabled toilets are located on the ground floor

      Each platter contains 50 pieces of food. As a guide line, we recommend around 10 pieces per person, so each platter will feed about 5 adults. Platters will be brought out by waiters and served to your guests at allocated times suiting your function needs. Platters are mixed and come with all options.

CAKES

We offer two kinds of cake service:

Self Serve including: storage in our cool room, unpacking and presenting it with napkins and a knife for self-service: $25.00

Complete cake service (cut and serve the cake with plates, napkins, and cutlery plus fresh strawberries and cream: $50.00

Your cake can be delivered to the hotel prior to your event during business hours.

We are open from 11am. Please have name of the function room the cake is going to written clearly on the outside of the box.

Ice Cream Cakes are not recommended. 

Please note that unless specifically requested, any cake or dessert left behind in the function rooms will be discarded.

DECORATIONS

50 helium filled balloons in any colour: $190.00

100 helium filled balloons in any colour: $300.00

You are free to decorate your function room as desired using only bluetack to adhere decorations to any surface.

Please check with our functions manager for available access times to your space – this will be dependant on other bookings.

Please note that unless specifically requested, all decorations left behind in the function rooms will be discarded.

ROOM CONFIGURATION

CONFIGURATION OF BOTH BRIDGE AND CAP ROOMS

Configuration of both rooms is very flexible.

Suggestions are as follows:

  • Both rooms for a standing function up to 180 guests
  • Both rooms for a seated function 55 guests

Should the guaranteed number of guests decrease considerably from the original quote, Harbour View Hotel Management reserve the right to levy additional room hire charges to meet costs incurred.

Configuration of the two rooms allows you to benefit from two bars and two balconies.

The two private function rooms combined has a hire fee of $1000 with minimum spend of $4000 on food and beverages, across both rooms.

CONFERENCE & CORPORATE

The Harbour View Hotel is an ideal venue for corporate conferences, business meetings and work seminars offering flexibility and floor space in two different rooms. The Bridge Room and the Cap Room cater for formal and informal functions with their own personal bars and balconies.

Conference rooms are set including iced water and mints, and any other of the following choices can be included at extra cost:

  • Selection of Fruit Juices $14 a jug. Orange, apple, cranberry and pineapple
  • Selection of Soft Drinks $12 jug. Coke, diet coke, lemon squash, tonic water and soda
  • Seasonal Fruit and Banana Bread Platter $75
  • Assorted Sandwich Platter $75 – Please refer to our function platters for more options
  • Self service tea and coffee station is available for $6 per person.
  • A whiteboard with markers is available for corporate bookings.
  • Both rooms have TV screens which you can connect a laptop to with a HDMI cable.
  • A projector screen is available in the Bridge room only. All other electrical and audio equipment is not supplied.

Business Lunches – Choose from the following options to enjoy a lunch that best suits you

  • Dine in our a la Carte restaurant
  • Order bar food either to your room or while enjoying views of the harbour in our outdoor Cocktail Bar
  • Enjoy a two or three course set menu
  • Choose from a selection of our finger food platters

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

HIRING OF EQUIPMENT

The Harbour View Hotel can recommend a supplier that may be required for your function. (The Hotel reserves the right to supply all food and beverages – cakes excluded). All equipment including extension leads will not be supplied.

DRESS CODE

Sunday-Thursday: smart casual wear Friday & Saturday: smart eveningwear. (Shorts and sports clothing are not permitted at functions.) Dress shoes, dress shirt and long pants (males) are requested at all times.

DISABLED ACCESS

A lift services the three floors of the building to aid both disabled and elderly patrons. Disabled bathroom/toilet are located at ground floor.

PARKING & PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Parking available in nearby Argyle Street and other car parks. Metered parking is often available in surrounding areas @ $4.40 per hour before 6pm. Taxis are frequent in the Rocks area. Sydney’s Circular Quay and Wynyard Train station is only five minute walk from the Hotel.

LOSS OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

The client shall remain responsible at all times for any loss or damage to the property of the Hotel caused by the client, guests and invitees. Please note ONLY Blue tack is to be used in the Hotel when decorating rooms. DO NOT USE Sticky tape, nails, staples or any similar method of attachment. The Harbour View Hotel is extremely careful when looking after guests and their property. Unfortunately, the Hotel cannot take responsibility for the damage or loss of items before, during and after a function. We therefore suggest the client consider obtaining insurance cover.

PAYMENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR BOOKINGS

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Full payment of the room hire is required upon confirmation of a function booking in the form of cash. Until the room hire is paid, it is not a confirmed booking. Any tentative function bookings not confirmed within five (5) days of the booking being made may be released at the discretion of The Harbour View Hotel management.
  • In the case of Cocktail Functions with finger food minimum numbers must be confirmed and food paid for five (5) days prior to the function. In the case of a Set Menu or Buffet, confirmation of final numbers is required no less than 24 hours prior to the function. Charges will be based on guaranteed numbers of the final head count. Should the guaranteed number of guests decrease considerably from the original quote, The Harbour View Hotel reserves the right to levy additional charges to meet the minimum spend requirements. Minimum spend requirements may apply to certain functions as specified by Hotel Management. The balance of the costs must be settled on or prior to the function date, no accounts payable is offered. Cheques are not excepted, unless prior arrangement. The Terms and Conditions form also needs to be signed and faxed back to (02) 9252 6170. For your convenience, we have an ATM machine to make payment even easier. Our ATM is located on our Hotels ground floor.

CANCELLATION

In the event of a confirmed function being cancelled within thirty days (30) days or less of the function date, your hire fee/security deposit will be withheld. All booking cancellations must be made in writing, or email mail@harbourview.com.au with written response/confirmation. The Harbour View Hotel will refund room hire fee if another function is booked – Guaranteed. 8 weeks notice is required through November & December months.

UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR

The management of the Harbour View Hotel reserves the right to remove patrons attending functions from the premises for unruly behaviour and/or showing signs of intoxication as determined by management’s discretion.

Bucks parties and similar functions (as determined by the management) are not allowed on the premises and the Hotel reserves the right to cancel any bookings for bucks parties up to and including the time of commencement of the event.

PROVISION OF GOODS AND SERVICES SUPPLIED BY THE CLIENT

Delivery of hired equipment supplied by the client to the Hotel must be advised to the Functions Manager prior to the delivery and must be delivered to a designated area. The Hotel will not be held responsible for the security, set-up or transportation of this equipment and will not be responsible for any damage or loss sustained. The client agrees to begin the function at the scheduled time and agrees to have clients vacate the designated function area at the agreed closing time plus all equipment to be completely packed up or removed.

CHILDREN ON PREMISES

The Liquor Act specifically requires that all patrons under 18 years of age will be in the immediate area of an adult known to underage patrons. Patrons under 18 will not be allowed, under any circumstances, in the ground floor gaming area. The Harbour View Hotel will rigorously enforce these regulations. Due to underage and intoxication issues

The Harbour View Hotel will not accommodate 18th Birthday parties.

UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES

In the event of inability to comply with any of the provisions of this contract by virtue of any cessation or interruption of electricity or gas supplies, industrial disputes, plant or equipment failure, unavailability of food items, other unforeseen contingency or accident, the Hotel reserves the right to cancel any booking or refund any deposit without notice.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, should the room(s) reserved be unavailable, the Hotel reserves the right to substitute similar venues. Every effort will be made to advise you in advance. We promote responsible service of alcohol and gaming, and are responsible hosts in our local community.

All prices shown are current at the time of printing, and are subject to change at the Harbour View Hotel’s discretion.

Cancellations of bookings must be received in writing.

If a tax invoice is required, this must be requested on or before the day of the function. Harbour View Hotel will not backdate any invoices.

AGREEMENT

Confirmation and payment of bookings agrees to all of the above terms and conditions outlined above.

While every care is taken to ensure that all information is accurate and correct, the hotel reserves the right to amend certain items, i.e. any item or price on the menu if it proves necessary. All possible care will be taken to ensure that each event has our utmost attention, we take pride in taking the work from your hands and working with you to ensure your function is truly an occasion to remember. Please note that our priority is you and all other hotel guests.
